Online MAE Graduate Courses
Online courses are taught by our regular faculty, and the lecture sessions are taught to students at USU campus at the same time as the on-line students, as well as archived for review. Requirements for the degree are the same as those of the on-campus program, but distance learning students are able to complete the requirements without regularly coming to the USU campus.
A degree seeking student must formally apply to Graduate School and be accepted into the program http://www.usu.edu/graduateschool/apply/ Admission decisions are based on transcripts, application, GRE scores, and letters of recommendation. Student can take up to 12 credits as a non-matriculated (non-degree seeking) before being formally accepted. Since acceptance into the program is based on the application materials, it is better to apply to Graduate School before taking coursework in the Distant Education program.
If you decide to try a class before you formally seek a MS degree, fill out Form 1-Information Sheet along with a copy of your transcript, and Form 2-Authorization each semester. MAE will review transcripts to ensure that prospective students have the necessary background experience prior to taking classes. Form 2 is submitted each semester prior to registration. This does not eliminate the Graduate School application process, but you can take a few classes before making the formal application. Fax forms to Bonnie Ogden, 435-797-2417, or email bogden@engineering.usu.edu
Form 1
Complete this information form and fax or email to MAE. Also submit a copy of your transcripts to complete this step.
Form 2
Submit this form each semester indicating the classes you want. If approved in MAE, Distant Education will be given authorization for registration.
