Welcome to Additive Manufacturing Laboratory (AML)

AML is pioneer in the additive manufacturing of aluminium parts using Ultrasonic Consolidation (UC)  process and is developing the process by integrating it with other rapid prototyping processes such as Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) and Direct Write (DW). The integration will help enhance freedom in designing complex  parts from various materials which was hitherto impossible from UC. It is intended to embed sensors/electronics or other functional elements in the parts to manufacture composite structures. The lab is also engaged in the fabrication of medical implants and/or depositions thereupon to further their biocompatability using Laser Engineering Net Shaping (LENS) in collaboration with various organizations.
