MAE Research Growth Benefits Students and Faculty
Utah State University's Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department has experienced dynamic growth in its research productivity. MAE's research productivity, winning research grants, patent applications, and students involved in research have more than doubled in the past four years.
One of MAE's priority goals has been to establish research support infrastructure to enhance and maintain sustainable research programs. This goal has resulted in a 188 % increase in research proposals, a 223% increase in research expenditures, and a 344% increase in research awards since 2003.
This dedication to research has helped MAE students continually prove that they can compete with the very best from across the nation as they consistently finish in the top 10% in intercollegiate competitions and pursue PhD degrees at prestigious institutions.
